 If you are the person who wants to take charge of your health, you don’t have to worry anymore about ‘what to cook today?’ As here, in this article, I am sharing 10 best healthiest Indian winter special recipe that you will definitely enjoy along with their numerous health benefits.  

1.Veg jalfrezi – This recipe includes mix of vegetables like cauliflower, carrot, cabbage, French beans, baby corn etc cooked in base of tomato sauce.  The combination of veggies make this recipe rich in fiber, protein, vitamin C and antioxidants. All these nutrients help in weight loss and protects us from various diseases. So, why not include this recipe as a part of healthy meal. Just  make sure that you are not using much oil.



2. Methi aloo – Easy to prepare and can be enjoyed by anyone without any guilt. Methi leaves are rich in calcium and protein which makes it a perfect dish for winter. Methi are also good for people with diabetes. Combine it with our winterspecial multigrain roti and dal for a complete meal.


3.   Tri vegetable chokha – This is actually a Bihari recipe which is relished with litti. To prepare this recipe we use boiled and mashed potatoes,  roasted tomatoes and brinjal. Tomatoes and brinjal are roasted on open flame to give a smoky flavour. All three vegetables are now mashed together and combined with onion, dhania leaves,  chilly, salt and little mustard oil. This can be enjoyed with litti, khichri and dal chawal also. So what are you waiting for, Try it now.


4. Aloo gobhi – Aloo gobhi is also a winter special dish which is very low in calories and has anti cancerous properties. But most of us don’t enjoy this recipe due to fear of worm infection and thyroid problem. If you are one of them, then here I am sharing a method of disinfecting them. Never use raw cabbage or cauliflower and always blanch it before cooking. For blanching just soak the veggies in boiling water with added salt for 5 minutes and now you can use it for making recipes. Even people with thyroid problem can have cooked cauliflower because heating destroys the goitrogens present in cauliflower.


5. Mushroom masala – Mushrooms are the only vegetarian source of Vitamin D. These days most of us are having Vitamin – D deficiency. So, if you are vegetarian you must include mushroom recipe in your diet during winters.


6.  Saag – Methi saag, Sarson saag, Bathua saag, Channa saag, Palak saag , Mooli saag etc..you can choose any saag of your choice. All of them is rich in nutrients like iron, calcium, Vitamin A and lots of antioxidants. You can combine it with makki ki roti or bajra ki roti or even rice.


7. Gazar matar sabzi – Carrot peas sabzi is rich in protein, vitamin A and antioxidants. All these nutrients make it a complete meal which can be enjoyed with roti.

Different parts of radish, such as leaves, stem and roots play a very important role in treating various ailments, such as stomach disorder, cancer, inflammation and liver injury. 


9. Rasam - Rasam is a traditional South Indian recipe, is prepared using tamarind juice and combination of spices. Spices like sesame oil, turmeric, tomato, chili pepper, pepper, garlic, cumin, curry leaves, mustard, coriander, asafoetida are used to make this recipe and all these spices have lots of therapeutic properties. Therefore if you have not yet tried this recipe, it’s time to do it now.


10. Palak 
Gatte  ki sabzi – This dish is loaded with spices and flavours that helps to keep you warm during winters. Gatte’ are basically gram flour balls which is rich in protein. To make this recipe, the gram flour balls are dipped in a spicy tomato and curd gravy and is can be served with our winter special  multigrain roti.
