We all experience some kind of pain in our day to day life. Although pharmacotherapy is the easiest way to get relief from pain, long term use of medicines have unwanted side effects like gastric discomfort, weight gain & addiction..

Researchers have found that inflammation and oxidative stress is one of the main reasons of pain. Some of the herbs, nutritional supplements, salt  and antioxidant rich diet may help to alleviate pain through its anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxing properties.

  • Epsom salt bath – Magnesium is known for its muscle relaxing properties and reducing stiffness. You can simply dissolve Epsom salt also known as magnesium sulphate in hot water tub and splash the water on painful  area at least thrice a week.

Apart from this a healthy diet which includes whole cereals, pulses, legums, nuts & seeds with reduced intake of refined food, ultra processed food, red meat, sugar, sweetened beverages is necessary for reducing inflammation.
