Fatty liver disease is a condition where excessive fat or toxins get accumulated in the liver. This can lead to an enlarged liver or inflamed liver. The problem is that fatty liver disease often has no symptoms, so it can be difficult to detect. However, here are three most common symptoms of fatty liver disease that you should never ignore.



1.       Indigestion – Liver play a very important role in digestion of protein and fat. If you have fatty liver, you may experience digestive complaint, such as indigestion, acidity or bloating after having your meal.

2.       Upper abdominal pain - You may also experience upper abdominal pain due to swelling or inflammation of liver.

3.       Low energy – Liver is the storage site of Vitamin D and most of the metabolic reaction in our body. When your liver is not working properly, you may feel drained out. You may also feel fatigue due to vitamin D deficiency.

     The best way to manage fatty liver is to make some posotive changes in your diet and lifestyle. For fatty liver you need to take more fiber and antioxidants in your diet.Here are some diet and lifestyle tips that may be helpful in reversing fatty liver

1. Eat 7 servings of colourful fruits and vegetables daily

2. Consume seeds and nuts everyday in meals and snacks

3. Use whole cereals to make roti like barley, jwar, bajra, ragi etc.or eat brown rice insted of white rice

4. Limit the consumption of eggs, fish and meat not more than twice a week

5. Include curd daily in your meals

6. Expose yourself to 15-20 mins of sunlight daily between 10 AM to 4 PM

7. Drink coffe without sugar. It is good for your liver

8. Drink lots of water

9. 30-45 mins of exercise in the form of briskwalking, yoga etc..daily

10. Increase consumption of pulses and legumes in the form of sprouts, dal, soyabeans, peas etc..

11. Avoid junk food , packed food, sweets or food with added sugar , ready made fruit juices, cola drink, soft drinks etc..

12. 8 hours of sleep daily
