Nine days of Navratri Fasting is an ideal way to detox your body. It enhances digestion, improves gut microbiome, increases energy level and positivity and make you feel lighter. But most of us are incorrect while breaking the fast. We tend to get crazy over meals and eat everything we want. But this can actually destroy all your efforts of fasting and miss out the most significant advantages of fasting.

So here i am sharing a simple diet plan that you can follow to avoid gaining excess weight.
1. Break your fast with some simple and lighter food. You can have fruits like papaya which has digestive enzymes and will help to east your digestion.

2. Now you can enjoy your traditional Navratri food like Puri, Channa sabzi and Suji halwa or Kheer. Try not to overeat, ideally you can take 3-4 small puri, 1/2 bowl channa sabzi and 2Tbsp of Halwa.
3. After half an hour, drink 1 glass of plain lassi with little gur or you can take 1 bowl of plain curd with little gur. Don't add salt as it will kill all the bacteria present in curd and you really need those bacteria for a healthy gut. You can also take lemonade with crushed lemon and mint leaves.

4. In the evening, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with something spicy like chaat and what better than channa chaat or tomato chaat.

5. Keep your dinner light as always, as you don't need much calories for sleeping. You can have one big bowl of dal or sambhar with drumsticks and one plate salad. You can also have some seasonal fruits like watermelon as it has lots of antioxidant properties.

Ideally fasting is a natural cleansing process of our body. So, It should not be reloaded with unhealthy food immediately. Eat home made food and avoid excess sugary food and unhealthy fast food like Golgappa, samosa, pizza, pasta, noodles etc.
