The trick is to stop overeating unhealthy food and use cooking methods like steaming, grilling, baking etc. to prepare dishes. Some of the food items that you can enjoy this Diwali are :-

 1. Grilled vegetables:- Super healthy way to for snacking. Opt for vegetables like peppers, summer squash, onions, mushrooms, and corn to grill. Cut them into similar pieces and skewered, cook them all at the same rate. And when you slide them off the skewer, you get a mouthwatering mix of textures and flavors.

  2. Zero oil dahi bhalla :- Ditch the normal dahi bhalle with steamed dahi bhalle this diwali. This is super soft and delicious and the same time very low in calories. So enjoy this super healthy gut friendly dish and keep yourself free from unhealthy gastric complaint like acidity, bloating, stomach distension etc.

3. Palak gatte ki sabzi :- Gatte Ki Sabzi which is a popular Rajasthani cuisine can be definitely served during festivals. Addition of palak in it makes it extra healthy and rich in folic acid. You can enjoy it with parathas and rotis for your main meal.

4. Mix vegetable :- You can use as many different vegetables you want to prepare this recipe. You can use cauliflower, cabbage, French beans, carrot, peas etc. to enjoy the nutritional benefit of each.

5. Cherry cheese pineapple stick :- Because it is Diwali and its celebration time ditch the boring cucumber salad with cheery, cheese pineapple stick. Very very easy to prepare and and irresistible.

Fresh pineapple when paired with cheese contains a proteolytic enzyme bromelain, which improves your digestion. Cherry is a sweet fruit that can be enjoyed even by diabetics and also helps to lower cholesterol.

6. Dry fruit ladoo :- Store-bought mithai tends are generlly over-sweet, high in fat and blended with maida & artificial flavours, so if possible, prepare sweets at home. This Dry fruit laddo is definitely going to satisfy your sweet cravings and at the same time very easy to prepare. Use whole foods like nuts and dates and enjoy guilt free. Of course portion control is important, you can eat 2-3 small ladoo.

7. Drinks:-  Being on diet does not mean you cannot enjoy occasional drink. The key is to choose low-carb options. Avoid Beers as they arevery high in carbs. So choose wine or liquor when possible. Clear liquors like gin, vodka, whiskey and tequila are low in carbs.
